Thanks to the grateful support of the Georg Kraus Foundation, this project in Laos has been successfully completed. Despite delays due to the heavy rainy season, the remote Viengkham Learning Center was successfully finished. The facility is a vital educational hub for more than 200 primary and preschool children. Following a visit in early 2025 where an urgent need for renovation was identified, the necessary upgrades were quickly put into action. The generous funding allowed for a complete overhaul of the center, which had been neglected since 2010. Improvements included installing floor tiles, connecting toilets to the water supply, fixing the electrics, and adding fans and new library shelving. The building was also freshly painted inside and out, and the concrete outdoor area was expanded. In addition to the structural upgrades, the project is funding the teacher's salary for one year. This ensures long-term educational quality and creates an optimal learning environment, giving the children of Viengkham lasting access to high-quality education.
This work thrives on the support of dedicated people. Small steps can lead to big changes and every contribution helps immensely. The extent of this support is entirely up to each individual. After all, great things can only be achieved when many hands pitch in.
