As in other countries, urban areas in Argentina have been growing rapidly in recent decades, while many rural areas are slowly dying out. A negative effect of this development are the urban marginal settlements - the so-called "Villas miseria", comparable to the Brazilian favelas. The most elementary things in life are lacking here. This German-Argentinian joint project wants to enable families from the urban marginal settlements of Córdoba to lead a more humane life with new perspectives. The aim is to build up a village community that is self-sufficient and finances itself. This also includes a harmonious way back to rural life, including self-determination and secure food supplies. It's the same in the big city of Cordoba. Residents suffer from lack of space from overcrowding, malnutrition from poverty and neglect from the government. This results in massive problems such as domestic violence, crime, educational deficits and drug addiction.
